Nexus between Leader–Member Exchange, Paternalistic Leadership, and Creative Behavior in the Construction Industry

Effective leadership and creative performance are the predominant factors for success of modern projects in global construction industry. However, rigorous research has not explored nexus between such leader–member exchange (LMX). To address this gap, study explores relationship dimensions paternalistic employee creativity achieved through LMX context Based on social theory (SET), six relevant hypotheses were proposed study. The data collected a structured questionnaire. An online survey form was used collection, which 288 responses from industry employees working Pakistan. analyzed using Smart PLS two stages, i.e., measurement model evaluation (reliability analysis, convergent discriminant validity) structural (R2, F2, path coefficient). findings current reveal positive association authoritarian, benevolent, moral with creativity. In addition, significantly mediates (benevolent leadership) creativity, except authoritarian leadership. results, contributes to body knowledge related appropriate style local that can be extended other developing countries similar dynamics. It also helps managers target develops skills acquire outcomes their team members.
